What to Expect

All tour guests will be expected to arrive at Sami Fine Jewelry (16704 Avenue of the fountains, Fountain Hills AZ) at least 20 minutes before your scheduled flight time. (If you are late, we cannot and will not wait for you. You will lose your deposit and your tour time). When you arrive, you will check in, sign your insurance waiver and pay any unpaid balances. You will also receive "Sami Goodies" which include some fun souvenirs. Sami's will be providing water, snacks, and a light lunch.

It should be noted that this tour REQUIRES physical activity. You will be doing a little hiking to the mine. It is not a long hike, but it is uphill in a rocky area. Once you arrive at the mine, the miners and mine owner will talk with you about the mine, it's history, and the special qualities of Arizona Amethyst. They will guide you into the mine, where you will get a try at mining this treasure yourself! After you've collected your purple gold, you will take the helicopter back to the original take-off point. A Sami team member will drive you back to Sami Fine Jewelry.

Amethyst Mine Tour Hike
NOTE: The mine tour trip is about showing you the mine and giving a "behind the scenes" experience, not excessively mining amethyst.  We allow guests to do a small amount of mining. You will be allowed to take a zip lock bag (that we provide) full of amethyst from the mine. The mine owner reserves the right to approve not only what you take, but the amount.
