This is an exclusive trip that is only offered a few times a year. Reservations are required, and seats are very limited. Your trip will begin at Sami Fine Jewelry. You'll finish your registration and get checked in, and pick up your "goodie bag!" You will then be transported to the helipad by your Sami Fine Jewelry Guide, and you will travel to the mine by helicopter. Once there, you will get to meet the owner of the mine, along with the actual miners. The miners will take you inside the Amethyst mine to show you firsthand how they extract our local beauty. This is an amazing trip that you won't want to miss!

The Arizona Four Peaks Amethyst mine is located at an elevation of about 6000 feet, in the rough terrain of the Four Peaks Mountains, of Arizona. This hike is not for the faint of heart, as you follow the summit trail across Four Peaks to arrive at the Four Peaks Amethyst Mine. Along the way you will see the natural beauty of the desert of Arizona, including views of Saguaro and Roosevelt Lake. Once you get to the mine, you will learn the unique history of the Arizona Amethyst mine and take a tour. Known to be the only commercially run Amethyst mine in the United States, this rare amethyst vein has been mined by hand without benefit of electricity for over 100 years. Guests looking for a challenging outdoor experience will certainly enjoy this historic amethyst adventure.

Your adventure will begin when your guide picks you up at your hotel door! You will then be transported to the heli-pad, where you will travel to the mine by helicopter, and you will have a short hike to the mine. Once you reach the mine you will have an opportunity to learn the unique history of the Arizona Amethyst, and the people who mine it. Known as the only commercially run Amethyst mine in the United States, this rare amethyst vein has been mined by hand without benefit of electricity for over 100 years. After your tour is done, you will make a quick stop at Sami Fine Jewelry to see what the Arizona Amethyst looks like in its finished state. After that, you will be taken back to your hotel.

Take a scenic drive with Private Jeep Excursions on the iconic Four Peaks off-road trail in the Tonto National Forest. The trail offers pristine views of the Mazatzal Mountains and Roosevelt Lake all while leading us through a very diverse desert landscape. Four Peaks Trail starts in a lower Sonoran Desert landscape and travels 27 miles over the mountain range. The trail is an easy off-road drive with several scenic vistas along the route.
Excursion Options: (choose your desired option during booking)
Option 1 – Four Peaks Trail Only You may choose to not add on any options and only decide to travel along the Four Peaks trail to the Roosevelt Lake Vista point. We will then travel to view both the Roosevelt Bridge and Dam. There is a chance to eat at one of the Tonto Basin community cafes before return home.
Option 2 – View the Salt River Wild Horses (extra fee) If you select this option, your trip will begin by traveling to Saguaro Lake to try and view the Salt River Wild Horses at both Butcher Jones and Coon Bluff points. There is a beautiful easy hike along the Lower Salt River at Coon Bluff to view the horses.
NOTE: The wild horses showing up is entirely up to them!
